We love our doggos like our own children. We go to their vet appointments together, went to see their graduation from puppy school, and coddle them like they are little babies every day. However. As much as we joke about it, we understand that there is a pecking order to things in life, and as much as we love them, they are still dogs. That's one of the first important lessons you learn as a dog owner: you may understand them better than most, but they understand a pack mentality - they have to learn that they are underneath all hoomans, and hoomans are the boss.

So when we read about this story of an entitled cousin who demanded a bride change her wedding date because it was on the same weekend as her dog's (Bentley's) birthday bash, we couldn't help but laugh.   • We would laugh as well. It's absurd! Your wedding is supposed to be one of the most important days of your life. It's the day you choose to commit yourself to someone until your last day. We think that trumps a dog's birthday party. He doesn't even understand the concept of birthday parties.
